Kristin and Bobbi's Write Life Wednesday: A Busy Weekend of Book Launches

Prosecco, cupcakes, and chatting with other writers are some of our favorite ways to spend time. We had a great time this past weekend celebrating other writers.

Saturday we went to Jen Doyle's book launch for her romantic, funny, can't put it down debut novel; CALLING IT. To find more fun pics from the event search #CallingItJD. It was hosted by Newtonville’s (MA) fabulous J. Stevens Salon

After a near career-ending car accident and with paparazzi surrounding his penthouse, all-star catcher Nate Hawkins can only think of one place to go: home. But when he finds his old apartment occupied by a half-naked woman wielding a baseball bat, he’s not sure what to think…except that maybe his luck has finally changed for the better.

Librarian Dorie Donelli never thought she’d get to meet her fantasy man in person—much less while she’s wearing her bathrobe. To her surprise, her nearly naked run-in with Nate leads to more unclothed encounters. But Dorie is sure their fling is only temporary. As long as she remembers he’ll be gone once his life gets back on track, she won’t get hurt. In the meantime, she throws herself into enjoying their three weeks together before he has to report for spring training and go back to his old life.

On Sunday we were off to Amesbury, MA where Edith Maxwell launched her latest book, DELIVERING THE TRUTH, with a wonderful historic walking tour (and Edith in full period dress!)

From Edith's Website

In the first book, Delivering the Truth (Midnight Ink, 2016), Rose becomes a suspect when a difficult carriage factory manager is killed after the factory itself is hit by an arsonist. Struggling with being less than a perfect Friend, Rose delivers the baby of the factory owner’s mistress even while the owner’s wife is also seven months pregnant. The mistress is killed a week later. Can Rose’s strengths as a counselor and problem solver help bring the murderers to justice before they destroy the town’s carriage industry and the people who run it? Delivering the Truth is now available everywhere books are sold (including at Amazon, at Barnes & Noble, and at IndieBound).
